Cold calls and fraud calls
How often do you get these calls?
I have installed ad blocking apps for years but I still got one calling with overseas number shown yesterday. The guy knew my name, so I thought it wasn't a fraud, but then he said that I have registered for the application for a credit card in his bank, a bank that I have never and never will use its services.
I called the bank to verify, the staff said application of accounts, credit cards, and anthing else etc. from my city would only be dealt with locally and would not be transferred to branches in their country.
I called the police to ask what I could do. The staff said recently there s a criminal group which bought a large amount of personal information from the black market. Some pretend to be calling from banks, others from government departments or even police. And a lot of people have been calling them for advice. Her advice was, there must be leakage of personal information as long as information is stored digitally, just don't answer them any questions regarding further personal information.
Nothing else could be done, or according to the police, nothing else is necessary to be done.
