Why would a dietary preference possibly be a religion?
LoveTriumphsOverHate · 36-40, M
@SirenCalledLuce because it goes beyond a personal preference. Vegans convert and seek to convert others. They also share common beliefs, so it's not just a dietary preference.

@LoveTriumphsOverHate So do civil rights activists. Is civil rights also a religion?
LoveTriumphsOverHate · 36-40, M
@BlueVeins There's certainly a cross-intersectional relationship between veganism and religion as most of the world's vegans practice hinduism or buddhism.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@LoveTriumphsOverHate yes, but they're not one in the same
@LoveTriumphsOverHate So what god do you think vegans worship in this apparent religion?
LoveTriumphsOverHate · 36-40, M
@SirenCalledLuce Religion doesn't require the worship of a deity. Buddhism is a religion and there's no G-d in buddhism.
@LoveTriumphsOverHate Ffs. Veganism isn’t a religion, there’s no worship or doctrine, just done strange people who don’t eat meat.

@LoveTriumphsOverHate Buddha is often a god in Buddhism, but nevertheless there are other faiths like animism where your point holds.
