Surely better to welcome them and they get legal jobs then they will be paying taxes etc.

What never ceases to amaze me that the way to stop illegal immigration is to stop the black market economy with its exploitation and tax avoidance. But the media and political class demonize the immigrants not the people who illegally employ them or the consumers who want cheap food and products so buy from the companies breaking the laws.

Who's more at fault? 馃

@SW-User they鈥檒l wire a great deal of the $$$ they earn from cash jobs to relatives in their home country taking the money out of our economy, not to mention not paying taxes on it and then getting government benefits.

@cherokeepatti see my comment of they are on legal jobs they pay taxes.
BTW the money going back encouraging new to come to your economy or buy from it rather than China or eu

@SW-User I鈥檝e been told different by someone from Mexico. He said a lot of money is going south. How can they pay rent, buy food etc with unskilled labor jobs and send all that money back to their families?
SW-User
@cherokeepatti you sure some of that isn't drug money. The drug cartels make a lot through smuggling people into usa then exploiting them, first to run the drugs in on their trek north then to help distribute.

Here's another idea, stop all illegal drugs (legalise) then the cartel power goes and all that cash doesn't flow back to the cocoa and opium fields.

@SW-User Could be part of it but it鈥檚 not nearly all of it. I鈥檝e heard some say they were working 2 or 3 cash jobs, especially construction or landscaping etc.
SW-User
@cherokeepatti again... Clamp down on that. Stop the cash jobs if they couldn't work illegally how long would they survive or stay?

To me the employers in those situations are the ones to target to stamp it out

@SW-User some of them do fence building or whatever for cash, they may be free lance
