Why do adults from the past seem much mature mentally than adults of now?

Maybe due to cultural breakdown. LIfe gets materially easier for most so they are less tough and able to meet stuff former generations had to cope with

Material progress and cultural breakdown happening for a few hundred years...and it's one phenomenon.
