Isn't positivity too overrated?

Well, that's because self help books, life coaches and what not tell you that everyone has to be awfully happy.
It's good to be optimistic once you have a good chance of success at something

I think it's equally as overrated as negativity is underrated.

Not quite, the most positive thing you can hear this year is "I'm negative".

You gotta be positive about it tbf
