Why must a person celebrate being one year closer to death?

Why must one spend on people and not on themselves on the day when the earth completed one more revolution around the sun since they came into existence? Why, WHY?!

actually since you dont know when you will die..it could be within minutes..hours...days..years... just celebrating that you are alive is more than worth it.

At least i am told that.. i have never died so i dont really know if its better or not LOL
