My grand father lost all taste for life when my grand mother died, He saw it all and did not see how he could move on. He died shortly after.
I still remember him summoning to see me. He was in bed crying and crying and could not get up. He wanted to see me alone and I was about 10. He was telling me over and over how much my grand mother loved me and I knew that. He told me he was going soon too..but did not tell me how. He developped cancer of the lungs and died 6 months later.

I don't celebrate my birthday. I just act like it's any other day.

@SW-User Why? Birthdays are celebrated almost religiously where I live.

@SW-User I can relate. I don't like making a bigger deal of them than should be the case... Especially in terms of celebrating with others... I'd rather use that same cash to buy myself a lot of things...

Birthdays are a celebration of life. Even my mother in her 90s who knows each one could be her last is still happy to enjoy the moment and not project negatively.

So instead of acknowledging you have life and your life is meaningful, you say a bday celebration is about acknowledging your inevitable demise and the human lifespan is not worth the recognition?

No no no, birthdays are healthy. The more you have, the longer you live. 😌
HairbrushDiva · 36-40, F
Because most of us don't think of it like that.

actually since you dont know when you will die..it could be within minutes..hours...days..years... just celebrating that you are alive is more than worth it.
At least i am told that.. i have never died so i dont really know if its better or not LOL
