Age of consent

In Nigeria the age of consent is 11. 12 in the Philippines and Angola, and 13 in Burkina Faso, Comoros, Niger, and Japan. In the U.S. It’s 18.

If there was a universal age of consent, what would you all think it should be?

Age of consent is a stupid concept. If both agree willingly and neither is in a position to coerce the other then no one should be prosecuted no matter the age difference. That said, it's up to parents to police the behavior of their children.

@xp47rb if it's up to the parents to police the behaviour of their [b]children[/b],how is it up to a [b]child[/b] to consent to something like that,let alone as you point out with someone who they could have a major age difference? You are contradicting yourself because you know a person of certain age cant consent considering their understanding of things and the fact that they can be coerced into it,especially in major age gaps that create imbalances in power and dynamics,and because of physical developmental issues that would put them at great risk of injury. In short,you are just a pedo who tries to deflect all responsibility for their urges and wants ,while you know well however that it is wrong and damaging,as you contradict your own self. Die
