My step dad is like that. He brings up things that happened like 30 or more years ago. Like, "Yes, we know, 1969 was such a horrible year in your life, NO ONE CARES!
Of course I do not interact with him for that reason.
Whatever mistakes you made when you were a kid no longer matter. Kids do dumb things. We do not dwell on it.
