Do you ever tear up when listening to powerful orchestral music?

Or am I the only little b here?
By the end of "Adagio for Strings" by Samuel Barber I am usually sobbing.

The mathematical precision of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos are a marvel.

I love this presentation, the pipers are majestic and Amazing Grace is so beautiful, no matter who plays or sings it. [media=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-9wqJykyeg]

LOL I wish I did! CLassical music never really did it for me.. I wish I could say differently.. I think it's just that I wasn't really introduced to classical as a child.. Funnily enough my kids, especially my older two love it and I believe that's because their gran, (on their father's side) would send them music and play music for them..

I sometimes vow I will get to grips with classical.. but, the problem is that not knowing where to start makes it seem too daunting.

Yes I do, quite often.

@LAlexV I know exactly what you're saying. I'm a very emotional person, in fact I cry when I hear any beautiful song or a song that brings back memories. In fact I cry every time I hear our National Anthem and Silent Night. lol
@JeanAnna I cry during our National Anthem and O Holy Night ❤️

@whippersnapper I understand completely.

I'm glad you are moved that way as well. Listening to music can a powerful emotive experience and although I love a lot of more popular music as background or distraction, an orchestra (or a pipe organ) has a richness of depth, harmonics, and physical presence in the air when live. Some pieces just bring tears or ecstasy without me having to do more than listen.
The Elgar Cello Concerto, particularly in Jacqueline DuPre's performance, with Sir John Barbirolli and London Symphony.
Almost nothing like from the very first bars.

Depends on which one I'm listening to and if I know the backstory. The backstory makes even the happiest songs dark.
Some pieces move me that way, too. Nothing wrong with that.
This one always gets me where I live...

@bijouxbroussard Very beautiful. I think that was the theme song of "Somewhere in Time" with Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve
@JeanAnna It was, and it really enhanced the romance of that movie. But I first heard it some years before.

@bijouxbroussard Yes, it's an old song, but so beautiful.
