@SW-User what was the process like? And what requirements u had to meet?

@Dan193 It was a while ago now and in Australia, but you had to attend classes and go through a series of personal assessments by a social worker I think it ammounted to 12 hours by memory of face to face questioning (you'd already provided a large essay on yourself,
describing your childhood etc) . There was also a reasonable amount of paperwork, and considerable cost. You also had to prove financial capability to provide for the child, medical and police checks, references from friends addressing specific questions about our marriage and your home was inspected.

@SW-User how come all those rotten people from stories of adopting treating them bad or even hitting them, how do they pass through all of that? Seems like a meticulous process
