I know too well how cushy it was in comparison to much of the world. I guess the first move we made? I was 9 and my parents moved us to Minnesota so they could attend missionary college, and we lived on the campus and everything. It was international, so we met a lot of people from a lot of places and also got a much broader perspective on the way the world was and remains.
