When did you realize you had a privileged childhood?

My parents reminded us every time we acted like brats. One of us complained about a Christmas gift? They'd make the ingrate among us donate everything received that year and we all had to go volunteer at a shelter or a kitchen.

Happened a few times I can remember but the one that sticks out was when my brother had to donate the PS2 he got because he complained about not getting a specific game with it.
