Would you stop in your car to give a hitchhiker a ride ... ?

I have, many times in the past, but no longer. I was on my way to work one day at the Homeless Shelter, and the way the hitchhiker looked at me was pure evil. I still get the shudders thinking of what he would have done to me if I had picked him up.
