Are these emojis necessary or just mocking disabled people?

Are we just supposed to pretend disabled people don't exist and not offer them representative emojis to express themselves with?
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
@SW-User Some people would definitely prefer that.
SW-User
Perhaps they just seek to include people of all abilities, so that they can recognise themselves in emojis and represent the reality of their situation.

I don’t see how they’re mocking anyone 👀 they give disabled people the opportunity to express themselves the same way everyone else can, sounds good to me

Agreed, let’s round them up and keep them out of sight.
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
It's an attempt to normalize disabled bodies and a step in the right direction.

I would like to see more representation in the "work" and "activity" themed emojis. This somewhat implies we just exist, which is another problematic misconception.

They are being inclusive not mocking
Dusty101 · F
It's inclusion.

They are emojis ,meh

Where’s the mocking part?
Laralemonsqueeze · 36-40, F
@SW-User Like if someone is disabled they could just say it themselves and don't need an emoji to say it huh?

I never knew these existed. The first one applies to me, though don't know when I'd use it
