@Spokeskitties75 My private theory is that in the course of the investigation the cops realized what kind of cesspit they were dealing with and started leaning on the founders for backdoor access. I remember that the reason they quit was because they could no longer promise anonymity to the userbase.

I know Armin Berjikly's message right before they shut down EP was that the platform was built on the expectation of anonymity, and since he wouldn't be able to maintain that, he had no choice but to end it. I only discovered EP a few months before then, but really enjoyed it and was sorry to see it go. SW is the closest thing but it's just a shadow of what EP was.

I've been suicidal around here and I posted about it and got some great help and support from SW members - but I wouldn't go meeting them when I'm in a depressed state because I'm not of sound enough mind to decide what is best for me in that state.

It's okay if you can make a sound decision on your own - but not when you are in a bad place to start with.

@HootyTheNightOwl I agree there are many good people that respond to others in crisis ,it just sucks that not only do we worry about the person ,we also have to worry about predators hiding in the shadows
