in what restaurant did you receive the worst customer service ??

It was a place that went out of business long ago, in Braintree, Massachusetts. It was a steak house called Valle's. They used to be excellent, until they hired a Hostess who was far more interested in outing delinquent or LATE waitresses, (late for their shift), than in keeping their customers. It was so mean and dysfunctional I still want to scream...and this is ancient history. They went out of business in the early 1980's.

We were deliberately seated by the hostess in an area served by a waitress who had not shown up for work. We sat there for half an hour without a glass of water or a look or a word or a glance from anyone. We were roundly ignored. Waitresses would walk by and deliberately look away when we called to them. Finally, one of them had mercy and told us that the waitress in our section had not shown up for work.

By then we had been seated for an hour. We walked out of there and I wrote a blistering letter to the manager. I hope and pray he fired that hostess...AND the waitress, too.

Applebee's ...

Asked waitress for water. Someone wanted to take medicine. Never came, so we went to the bar and got it from the bartender.

At the end of the meal the waitress gave us the bill and asked why we asked the bartender and made her look bad. And then ...

"next time you come here don't sit in my section."

A Dunkin Donuts one Sunday morning about 30 years ago. We wanted to go to Denny’s or Golden Corral but not one single parking space at those restaurants so stopped at Dunkin Donuts. Went to the counter, sat on stools. The lady was waiting on everyone but us, it seemed like we were invisible. He spoke up & asked for coffee, she acted like she didn’t hear. She waited on other customers who came in after us. We sat there another 10 minutes or so waiting. Finally we got up to leave & he says to the woman “Thank you for the coffee” and she says “Your Welcome”. Have never been back to a Dunkin Donuts.

I remember this small restaurant that was really crowded; we sat at the table waiting for service for like 15 minutes before we just gave up and left. I understand they were not used to those kinds of crowds and were overwhelmed, but that was bad.

Also, a jack-in-the box in the NYC area ...

While waiting for the counter person to acknowledge we were there ...

"what you want?? ? I ain't got all day!"

Mom's Diner. When I didn't eat my cooked carrots she spanked me. I go there a lot!
