@Stereoguy haha no modrn bathrooms, no phones, no modern kitchens beds... you sleep on hay bedrolls, cook over an open fire, bathe in a tub and poop in a latrine lol

@Strawberrry Baths were for very wealthy people in medieval times...😜. People of the lower classes, of the sort who slept on hay, bathed in streams and ponds and rivers...during the high heat of summer only, and would seldom remove their clothing to do so...😜
@4meAndyou actually public baths were very much a thing in the medival and disappeared only later cause the church didnt like it. but yeah bathing in the river is totally a thing too.

@Strawberrry Ah...the leftover roman baths! I have seen the one underneath the pavilion at Bath in England. I wouldn't get into that for money! 😜
@4meAndyou its not for everyone... we are a small communuty and its really great to get back to the roots for a while, makes you appreciate the wonders of a shower, a flushing toilet od toilet paper lol
4meAndyou · F
@Strawberrry I have used an outhouse many times while camping in luxury conditions up in Maine, (where we had to bathe in the pond with the leeches or not at all), and on my grandfather's farm during an emergency, and believe me...and especially after covid19...I really, really appreciate toilet paper...😊
@4meAndyou yeah... dried leaves do get itchy

@Strawberrry My mother once told me to use a corncob when I asked her what to do for toilet paper. The only corncobs around were paving the barnyard, covered in ants...so I brushed off the ants and I did actually try it. Sort of like wiping your bum with a wire BBQ brush...😰
@4meAndyou never heard of the corncub thing...but yeah i tend to dip my butt in the lake to feel properly clean lol

@Strawberrry
"No phone, no lights, no motor car
not a single luxury
like Robinson Crusoe,
it's primitive as can be."
@chrisCA exactly propably a little betetr then robinson... as we have tools etc
@Strawberrry pretty interesting
@Theambivert its a great experience... but its definitely not for everyone
@Strawberrry Yeah I can see that too hahaha. Are you guys gonna try next year?
@Theambivert hopefully... i am getting way to civilized
@Strawberrry well hopefully it does

@Stereoguy its fun.. i mean there are some set rules but everyone has to decide how authentic they go... you can of course bring your medicine, and wear your glasses etc... smuggling in toiletpapr or tampons is common too.. just be descreet about it to not break others peoples immersion
