They give off an air of confidence that some people are attracted to...
Or, they fear them and want to stay on their good side.

@JupiterDreams I vote the latter

Because most bullies pretend to be nice people and demand attention and weak people will follow them

Best I can figure, is that it must be fear. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

@BettyBeez you mean a sick sense of humor mixed with narcissism. Good point.
@turningthekeys yes.

They don’t really....a lot of people will act friendly toward a bully in order to avoid the bully’s wrath.
hartfire · 61-69
I don't believe they do.
They might seem like friends - but I don't believe they are sincere. The relationships don't last outside the specific environment in which they occur.
Some people think being is the bully's camp is the safest way to find shelter. That's not how a true friend thinks about the person they hang around with.

@hartfire but it benefits both parties at workplace.

@turningthekeys Unfortunately, true.
Workplaces are notorious for it. :(

It always looks like that because people rarely have the guts to confront them, but in time, they often end up pretty much alone.
turningthekeys · 31-35, F
@Peapod I would say that is a 50 50. All my school bullies were extremely smart. All in high places now. So were my bullies in university. Then at my internship. Always ten steps ahead.
Peapod · 61-69, F
@turningthekeys Give it time. No one likes an old bully. With that said, I do agree that they really can make life miserable in school and the workplace. I remember them well.

people, especially women (sorry), often go for the confident, funny,charismatic type but these traits are often associated to narcissistic people and assholes. you see this in posts which asks what traits women like in men, they will always say funny and confident, rarely will kindness be in their top trait they look for where as for me being genuinely kind to others is a major factor in choosing a girlfriend.

Dominance attracts people
novaguy2u · 70-79, M
Are they really friends, or do they just suck up to the bully out of fear?
bijouxbroussard · F
Because people are afraid to be counted among their enemies. They rarely remain loyal when the bullies are bested.
slenderboy · 22-25, M
Maybe people are scared not to be their friend I don't know but I hate how it is
JohnOinger · 41-45, M

In other words Some Trash male is so entitled he feels like his opinion on your Crush counts and has to share it with you.
Some people have Such Shit taste in others, One thing I do know is that's not a problem with which I'm afflicted.
My partner is practically a fucking saint.
