All of the above. I have read so many articles about accidental shootings that I'm not sure if guns are the best option.

I have one of those super bright flashlights and a dog.

@SW-User Yes,all 3 are needed.

@Nimbus I have guns but they are locked up. I'm in a safe enough neighborhood that it's not worth the risk of accidentally shooting somebody.
