Should vigilantism be allowed?

Why or why not?

I think civilians should be allowed to use force liberally to prevent crime, but not to avenge it. If you're right there while a crime is in progress, the only two options for you are to let the crime happen or intervene, the cops could be minutes away. If you merely believe someone has committed a crime, you can invoke the power of the justice system, which is more reliable for getting the real perpetrator.

@CharlieAmiRose Kill people to prevent rape and murder, not as retribution for it.

But that’s not reasonable force @BlueVeins

@CharlieAmiRose The idea of reasonable force varies from person to person. If someone's trying to kill or rape you and you run away, there's still an active attacker there who can victimize someone else. You don't exactly have a duty to stop them -- you're a civilian -- but you certainly shouldn't be punished for preventing them from causing further harm.

There would be more crime than before, due to people wearing masks for good things, some would for bad

No. That is how you get lynch mobs. Vigilantes do things based on emotion. Not laws.
