How would you define reality?

Besides calling it 'real' or something lame like that.

1: its what is actually going on but different from what I think it is
2: its what I am interacting with, the origin of the signals received by my sense with which I build my worldview

Very good question.

Perception. The way your senses interpret your existence in your surroundings

Cops often say 'Stick five observers on a street corner and stage an incident in front of them.
Then go take statements from the witnesses.
You'll get five different interpretations of what just happened.

That's because we all interpret our surroundings and interaction with them differently.

So reality as some sort of 'Flat fact' doesn't apply equally to everything all the time.
And if it involves groups ?
You can bet 'reality' is defined by the majority....whether it be true or not.

An instrumentalist definition might be something like: "That which may influence measurement."

It's a little thorny whether this encompasses all that we would consider "real", but this seems like a decent first pass.

reality is just a shared illusion... its the lies we all agree on.
