If there was an SW prom who would you take?🤔

@BertSampson What? So are you saying people just go there to get drunk, lose their inhibitions, and do stupid things? Such as spread p(l)andemics? ;-) Oops did that just slip out.

So what actually is the intention of it? If it's not some sort of 'group or grope dating' party? Is it something only for couples?

I did a bit of googling, and it seems the only equivalents I can find here are school formals (which I never went to) and something called debutante balls which are for the elite singles of society.

There's another thing called 'homecoming' (sort of like an alumni or alma-mater re-union thing?) that is specific to US and I've never heard of is being a thing here.

@zonavar68 prom is a typical highschool age (usually around 15/16/17/18) rite of passage. a formal dance that often turns into several big parties and lots of money spent on various things.

@dirge Ok, so sounds a bit similar to the 'school formal' thing here. At the time I was in my senior years at high school I had no interest in sex/dating/etc. and couldn't see the point of the school formals. Still don't really.

@zonavar68 It has always been a big thing in American high schools. It is now in Canada, but when I attended high school, not so much. We did have a formal, but I did not go.
