Which are you more afraid of: Spiders or Snakes?

I live in Oregon and have encountered rattle snakes a few times. I am OK, when I can see the snake. But when on a hillside of rock... with the snake buzzing... and you can't see the snake... pretty scary. The snakes are usually fleeing you... however.
