The mayor of Oklahoma City is trying to turn the business owners into mask enforcers...

They will lose my business forever when that happens.

You would hate Massachusetts. We are mandated to wear masks at all times by our Governor, whenever we are in public. Yesterday, for the first time since this started, we had ZERO deaths from Covid19.

All businesses in Massachusetts have security guards outside to make sure that all who enter are wearing masks...of course, yesterday, the security guard was so busy texting and looking at his phone I could have marched about 100 non-masked people into Stop and Shop right past him. 馃槀

I don't know, Patti...I kind of like the idea that my grocery store doesn't have bakery goods and fresh veggies that have been coughed upon, sneezed upon, or otherwise fouled by sick people.

@4meAndyou yes that鈥檚 nasty anyway if you think about it. Sprouts packages every thing now but they are allowing produce that is half-rotten to stay on the shelves. I went a few days ago and the grapes & cherries looked like you鈥檇 have to throw a good percentage away.

@cherokeepatti Have you heard about this group that is salvaging ugly, slightly damaged, or bruised fruits and vegetables? All organic, very ugly...but still quite good, and 40% less!

@cherokeepatti Oh...and partly bad fruits and veggies can still be donated to food pantries to feed people who have no jobs.

@4meAndyou I鈥檝e heard of that. but when Sprouts gets around to discarding it then it won鈥檛 be fit to salvage, maybe to feed to hogs because they don鈥檛 mind eating half-rotted produce.

@cherokeepatti You're right. What a shame.

@4meAndyou they are hanging onto the produce as long as they can, maybe they鈥檝e lost money. But they鈥檝e lost a great deal of business from me because of it. We got a bag of baby cucumbers and opened them up and every one had rotten spots on it. They made a policy of no refunds and put a big sign up and that鈥檚 why people are not buying very much from there. But we got our money back, it would have gotten ugly, they were over $3.50 for the bag.

@cherokeepatti We used to buy reduced for quick sale stuff, but not if it was that bad. I can remember buying red and green peppers with only one rotten spot in the package...or fruit...the same way. I used to take my paring knife and cut the spot out completely...but that stuff had to be prepared the same day it was purchased.

@4meAndyou yeah that sounds good, I鈥檓 talking about grapes with dents on them and rotted spots too. They are too far gone to buy & take home to eat.
