It can be done...but it's very difficult.
For a while, I was not able to earn much more than that. I was working with Alzheimer's and dementia patients, and the problem with that is that these conditions are fatal. My clients kept dying. So instead of a regular income, I had to deal with constant cuts while waiting for new clients.
I had to rent a room for a while, in the worst imaginable conditions. But I did it.

@Nimbus Eventually I applied for another job with a regular paycheck in the same amount every week. My job, working with Alzheimer's and dementia patients, was a form of learning...and expiation, really. I did not understand dementia even a little bit when my mother was in process of dying from it.
