Like all movements, it's starting to choke on its own good intentions as more people come on-board and contaminate the cause with self-interest and a plentiful supply of guilt-funding.
Like the "Me Too" movement that broadened its focus to a point of holding up all accusing women as saints, Black Lives Matter is trying to impose a purity test of 21st century values on anyone who deserves to be remembered with a statue. And, as they use any means to impose that test, they will lose some momentum and diverse support.
That being said, calibrating the scales of justice for all is still a noble and necessary cause. Reigning back unchecked police power and authority is a social priority. And, recognizing that every human regardless of skin colour deserves the dignity that comes with life no matter how many bad checks they may have written or how fast they attempt to run away is still something that needs our attention.

@MarkPaul Same as feminist movement too. It starts toxic when they hate men.
