Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

I have been told by a psychiatrist that I am a "social introvert", and the description he gave of that term really does fit me.

On the one hand, I can be outgoing, I can enjoy parties where I circulate and chat with lots of people, I enjoy telling jokes and making people laugh. I enjoy acting in plays and speaking in front of groups.

On the other hand, my "time for re-energizing" is alone-time. I like to hike in the woods alone, or go on solo camping trips, or just sit in an armchair and read. I am introspective. I like silence -- I do not play background music or keep a tv on. Dancing -- or even clapping my hands to the beat of music -- does not come naturally to me, and I feel imposed upon if I am expected to do those things. I am happy to go to a restaurant or theater alone.

I cherish time alone, and yet I enjoy being social.

Introverts say I'm an introvert. I'm an introvert's introvert.

It depends on the situation, as a Pisces I tend to easily blend into most social situationswith ease. Outgoing when the situation calls for it. Otherwise, I tend to be reserved and don't make friends too easily. I am VERY loyal to the friends I have they are my treasures as are my cat's.

Perhaps an intro-extrovert as I am not good at mingling with people and have a lot of social stigma but the people I know think of me as an extrovert
