What is your opinion about makeup?

Any statement at all?

I rarely apply dark shades of eyeshadow like black or purple or green because I think it does not go well with my skin tone. I think it makes me look exhausted and does not do me justice in dim light. I try to stick to different shades or pink or maybe some reddish shades or brandy wine shades. I also dislike ruby red lipstick, or different shades of red. (Again, pinks are my go to colors.) I think scarlet red lipstick makes my complexion more washed out of color than I already am because I’m so light skinned. I envy others who can pull it off.

I see makeup as an extension of fashion, which in itself is a form of practical self-expression. People are going to be seen whether they want to or not, so they can use makeup to reflect their moods or personalities, to draw attention towards or mitigate it away from their face, or simply to abide by certain social decorum.

Whether or not people choose to wear it isn't indicative of any moral failings or social conformity. It's an option people choose to accomplish whatever ends they see fit

I make my own lip gloss/balm and kohl.

Not a big fan of skin products, think lot of them contain gluten and other ingredients I can't handle. Also they clog pores. Kind of worry about my face getting zits.

Last time I let someone put foundation and other stuff on my face it itched so bad and I felt very weird and uncomfortable. Like I am wearing a mask.

I have a cousin who is a sponsor for a skincare system that is organic and she sent me a kit. I’ve switched to it and I feel my skin is gradually getting better...and I know what you mean about foundation. I haven’t used it for about a year now because everything makes me break out even more.@Miram

@Thebestof1995 gluten is mostly organic, lolz, it is in most foods these days too. I am glad you found products that suit your skin.

Another issue for me with make up has been the way the primary material is being gathered like the Mica industry. I hate child labor.

And yes!! it can be really horrible. I don't use it but in weddings and parties women in my family like to put crap on my face, generally annoying, I tolerate it sometimes.

I enjoy makeup a lot. Applying it calms me down. At this point I’m pretty set on which products I like, and which work for me, but as styles and my skin change I also like looking for products that work better for me.
For myself, I usually only use nude and neutral shadows, usually the same powders I use for contour and highlighting. I don’t use any color on my lips. I like colorful shadows and lips on others, but they don’t work for me.

From a guy's point of view, looking in, make-up can be a double-edged sword. Part of me thinks it shouldn't be necessary, but on the other hand the results can be stunning, even when used subtely. At the end of the day I think people should wear it if they like it and the results, but shouldn't be compelled to. 🤷‍♂️

I think red lips look lovely on very pale or dark skin.

I tend to stick with neutral colors, but I don't wear much and not often.
My opinion is its a big waste of money but can enhance a persons looks if applied properly..

Makeup is very feminine and makes many ladies, feel attractive.

For me, it’s great but l really admire the “peaches and cream”, natural look too!

With that being said, a nice smile and personality to me, is the ultimate attraction!☺️

I think many older women use a lot of it to hide wrinkles etc. Personally, I like the natural look.

You must do what makes you feel comfortable.

I prefer women without it, or a natural look anyway.
