What is your opinion about makeup?

Any statement at all?

I rarely apply dark shades of eyeshadow like black or purple or green because I think it does not go well with my skin tone. I think it makes me look exhausted and does not do me justice in dim light. I try to stick to different shades or pink or maybe some reddish shades or brandy wine shades. I also dislike ruby red lipstick, or different shades of red. (Again, pinks are my go to colors.) I think scarlet red lipstick makes my complexion more washed out of color than I already am because I’m so light skinned. I envy others who can pull it off.

I see makeup as an extension of fashion, which in itself is a form of practical self-expression. People are going to be seen whether they want to or not, so they can use makeup to reflect their moods or personalities, to draw attention towards or mitigate it away from their face, or simply to abide by certain social decorum.

Whether or not people choose to wear it isn't indicative of any moral failings or social conformity. It's an option people choose to accomplish whatever ends they see fit
