@Longleggedlady it’s an American word. We have many parks where people can drive. We park in out driveway because our other three cars are in our garage.

According to the Encyclopedia Britannica website, the term originally referred to elevated Roman roads in ancient times. The term has become more general and now refers to "major roads".
