Depending on what it is that's getting to me. If it's my mind messing with me through depression...I tend to vent some, play computer games or try to watch a movie or two. Some times interacting with friends can be helpful.
If it's something more like being dumped, a loss of a friendship or friend or something I have little control over, then usually talking with or spending time with friends is the way for me. I don't like to be left to my own thoughts when pain or loss is involved.
As far as fool proof? Not 100% no. There are things that I sometimes can't get rid of and I just have to do my best to ignore them, ride it out and let time wear it away from heart and mind. I have found that keeping myself busy helps, doing things that I enjoy really helps the most. Quiet, alone times don't help me during blue moods.

@Tomorrow It really is. But if you ever need an ear or just someone to shoot the breeze with to pass time and I'm around, hit me up, poke me (not too hard, never know where that finger might hit I move around a bit) or if not me, I'm sure someone else here would be happy to talk about movies, shows or anything that isn't blue mood inspiring.

@MrPerditus1 Thanks. Same here. Sometimes, just a little convo does wonders.

@Tomorrow Thank you as well and so true. Just being able to reach out, be heard and hear others is a relief from everything else. It reminds us, we're not as alone as we may feel.

Feeling blue means?

@Tomorrow our minds always want to do things what we can do easily, so its happening when we starting meditation bcz its difficult things for our mind. We can control our mind with passions. Our mind and thoughts are very naughty that's way its dont like to be stop.. so where our mind thinking about other things and run away then we need to catch it and give work to it, and work is very simple just observe our breath.

I usually try to read as I find it's the best form of escapism I know. Nothing is foolproof unfortunately. Do hope you feel better soon.

Think happy thoughts....and about the things you are grateful for.
Or listen to music you like. Lol

Music is my go to. It normally helps.

@Tomorrow 🤗🤗
Reading is another good distraction for me but I know that feeling of not being bothered to start.

A few drinks and a movie to zone out to. It generally works.
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@ButterRobot Drinking when I'm already down, only makes it worse. Lol. Doesn't that figure? :(
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
@Tomorrow Well..drinking AND distraction. Drinking without the distraction certainly makes things worse.
Sometimes you just need a holiday from yourself.
