People tell me I should be but who would listen to those losers. 😆

@JBird why do they tell you so?
JBird · F
@SW-User I am biracial. It's usual to hear that if one side of family is anywhere from Asia.
SW-User
@JBird which country are your parents from?
JBird · F
@SW-User Indian mother, Vietnamese father. I am not close to my Vietnamese family so I don't know the story there. I do know my Indian side of family isn't too proud of having a mixed kid around. I have another Indian relative who married an Indonesian woman and they have a son who looks more East Asian than Indian. I overheard my cousin telling it's a shame that the child isn't Indian enough. So I can understand how they see me.

@JBird I see. I feel you. But that should not make you less proud of you. Infact you are lucky. Having parents from both countries allow you to travel in both lands and explore. Ofcourse your mother's side or relatives in india are not close enough since your father is from a different country. But I don't think Vietnam and India has much colour difference. Maybe they have different eyes. But it's ok. If you move to a different or bigger city nobody will even care about it. Because people don't have time for it. :)

@SW-User I don't think being biracial is bad, it's cool. Only thing I can't stand is the Indian aunties talking behind me. Lol. But nobody dares to tell me directly to my face because they know how my mother is going to react. 🤣

Indians have this cult nature, they always stick to one another. That's why they don't encourage interracial marriages.
SW-User
@JBird relatives are all the same. But I glad they don't force you to follow religious customs.

Also I hope they don't make you marry any typically south Indian guy. 😂

@JBird People forget or do not simply know that other non white countries can be pretty racist or even more racist than white ones.
JBird · F
@SW-User If my mother was strict about Indian culture, I would have been. Lol. Actually I was engaged (not forcefully lol) to a South Indian guy after six long years of dating. Broke it off after I found out he cheated on me. 😬
JBird · F
@revenant yeah, India is pretty much a good example for that
SW-User
@JBird that's a shame. Did they make you go to the temple?
JBird · F
@SW-User he's a Christian. 😬 My mother's side has been converted to Christianity, I think, in 1800s.
SW-User
@JBird I see. I hope you find someone to love :)

@SW-User my guess is she would be particularly beautiful with this mix. Quite unusual too @JBird
