It will be a stretch, under Minnesota law to get murder convictions on any of those officers.
Minnesota laws are liberal .... very very very VERY liberal
As much as people think we understand murder "raps" ... getting one, in this situation (in Minnesota), on a government employee, doing a job edging right up against life-death all the time ... will be very challenging
I doubt the state attorney general will succeed
This is what happens in very liberal states ... the laws, in the end, protect nobody
So ... a federal statute, like a hate crime, could be the way to go here ... but Blue Minnesota would have to admit they came up short ... and I really doubt they will ask Trump to save them.

@TexChik I will place faith in your judgement

@questionWeaver with all the hype they threw into Corona virus ... they can’t just discount it now . The officers were negligent or used excessive force ... but ... 🤷🏻♀️
@TexChik exactly

I think murder is the ultimate hate crime 🤷🏼♂️

Murder charges supersede hate crimes I would imagine

Because US is corrupt

You fucking UKers!! Shut the fuck up and mind your own business @JovialPlutonian

@Chevy454 lmao they’re moody too

Because being charged with murder is probably sufficient to get them put away for along time I'd imagine. They're going to have such a great time in prison.

@SW-User I'm British. ..so don't know the exact details of what constitutes a hate crime in the US. ..
But hey if it adds another ten years to the murdering racists sentence go for it 👍

@SW-User Exactly. I think it was just a case of brutal cops who went too far. If the guy was white, we never would have heard about it!
SW-User
@JT123 It has inflamed preexisting tensions and it came on top of Arbury and Breonna so it was really just the match
SW-User
They were.murder
Probably for the same reason that no one back in the day was charged with hate crimes down south for the lynchings that went on..
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
Perhaps the penalties for a hate crime are lesser than 2nd degree murder?
JT123 · M
@SumKindaMunster But they could have added it.
SW-User
It's symbolic. 🤷♀️

because there were no good evidence for it. Hate crime is difficult to locate unless it's someone voicing their opinions while doing the action.
