these personalized adds get annoying sometimes

I'm looking to replace my oakley glasses and and because i've been looking at all the options on the oakley website, now , no matter where I go, all i see are oakley adds. Its so annoying. if i want to see oakley glasses i go to the website and look at them, if I'm doing something else its because at this very moment I dont want to be looking at glasses. the pressure makes me want to not buy them. i guess eventually the algorythms will map out our personalities and then they will see that i am not someone who follows and i hate to be told what to do.

Can you alter your "cookie" filters to at least reduce such advertising, or have you already done that but these ones are still coming through?

Don't blame "algorithms". They are merely parts of entire programmes, (though journalists love using the word because they think it sounds, as they would probably and horribly say, "tech-savvy"!). Saying something is by an "algorithm" is like describing driving a car as travelling by gearbox.

We should not blame the programme, computer or IT system either, but people. Those things are designed by people to perform particular tasks paid for by the other people who manage major retail, financial and communications companies.
