@FootL00se The problem is that the idea can be simplified and that makes it very attractive, particularly in countries with great disparities in wealth (and low levels of education). It becomes the "go to" rhetoric of the agitators, sad but true. Marx and Marxism is is complex if you take time to understand it.

@Lochlee Complex society is there too. But I've viewed it more from the lense on a legal side. That in essence in today's world, ownership and capital have turned into highly abstract rights - and to weave that into any semblance of Marxist theory would mean dismantling a lot of existing core legal concepts developed in a Capitalist regime.

@FootL00se True, the "owners" of the means of production are often legal entities and not necessarily a person. Interesting to view the incompatibility from a legal perspective. I am wondering now (and I do not know) whether in a "communist country" the legal concepts are conceptualised differently,to align with Marxist thinking.
