Why is there absolutely 0 respect for elders from many kids?

Y’all say gentle parenting works but in most cases all I see are disrespectful brads who need their rear torn up. We would have never acted that way.

I think there is a balance between being a firm parent and a relaxed parent, but being a relaxed parent is easy so that became the norm. Kids don't really have consequences these days, so they don't care.

my mom didn’t spank often but when she did you knew damn well you messed up. A lot of her punishments were harsh without laying a finger. She actually fired me as a teen from where I worked for her because I had this “well my moms your boss so...” attitude.
