I don鈥檛 wanna sound like some dude who hates life here but hey look at it from a darker yet somehow pleasant viewpoint. We鈥檙e all slowly aging and dying just like an orange that no one has eaten sitting on your bowl of fruit. You are living yet dying all at once. Death is our destination. The destination we all like to not think of too often. This flesh will be destroyed someday but who cares about that when you got this awesome thing inside you called a spirit or soul. Call it whatever you want but that鈥檚 something that is totally not physical.

@HermannFegelein What the...
HermannFegelein26-30, M
@MarkPaul I know 馃槄馃槅 I鈥檓 a bit bizarre ain鈥檛 I?...wait am i asking that? Haha I know I am.馃お
MarkPaul26-30, M
@HermannFegelein Well, at least you have self-awareness.
HermannFegelein26-30, M
@MarkPaul 馃槅馃槅 Yeah. I umm I know you didn鈥檛 ask but I鈥檒l tell you anyway. I have an obsession with the dark and depressing things of life. I love gothic culture. Mainly their architecture and dark vibes. It allows me to embrace and feel brave about death like there鈥檚 nothing to fear. Ahh you probably don鈥檛 know what I mean. 馃様
MarkPaul26-30, M
@HermannFegelein Well, I think what you are saying is you like the intricacies of the darkness, not from a lighting perspective exactly, but as you say, "the depressing things of life." You feel if you embrace those intricacies, "it" will embrace you back and you will be able to escape its toxicity. In my assessment, it seems unlikely to work.
HermannFegelein26-30, M
@MarkPaul exactly! Perhaps if we commit suicide then yeah we sort of get a say but then at the same time life can be beautiful too so it鈥檚 hard. Not to mention the physical and emotional pain that goes along with dying. We all have to face it. I guess what I鈥檓 trying to say is that I find a beauty in the darkness. It鈥檚 not something one should seek I guess but something we ought to accept as part of our human cycle. Something we should not be too afraid off. Fear after all is what keeps us alive wouldn鈥檛 you agree...
MarkPaul26-30, M
@HermannFegelein No, I don't agree. Fear is something for us to confront... something that challenges us... but it is not what keeps us alive. It's what we must conquer.
HermannFegelein26-30, M
@MarkPaul death is inevitable
HermannFegelein26-30, M
@MarkPaul without fear you wouldn鈥檛 have anything to confront.
MarkPaul26-30, M
@HermannFegelein That's correct. It sounds like you don't want to confront though; you want to befriend it under the false premise it will spare you.
HermannFegelein26-30, M
@MarkPaul no I鈥檓 afraid of death. I am not saying that I don鈥檛 fear it. I鈥檓 saying one ought to find a little comfort in it because it is a natural stage in our cycle.
MarkPaul26-30, M
@HermannFegelein Perhaps acceptance instead of comfort?
HermannFegelein26-30, M
@MarkPaul but death is freedom from pain. Well of course the process of dying will most likely be painful. I mean I could be crushed to death by something, stabbed, electrocuted, burned, etc. Those all hurt. But the ability to not exist anymore can be looked at as something beautiful.
HermannFegelein26-30, M
@HermannFegelein comfort in the presence of what is to come in the future.
ScarletWitch26-30, F
@HermannFegelein I'm Hyperian. Do not be afraid of death. We believe we are all energy. And energy cannot be destroyed in a sense we're we are god. which I found a bit of a stretch when I started. But I can give you the link. I wouldnt watch the whole thing. It was live and I was watching and the video corrupts but he is who I follow on fb
MarkPaul26-30, M
@HermannFegelein Comfort comes from a job well done, not a job... done. So, putting up with existence is how you achieve subsequent comfort.
HermannFegelein26-30, M
@ScarletWitch I鈥檝e pondered that possibility too. I too don鈥檛 believe energy can be destroyed. But to retain our minds.....I truly wonder if that鈥檚 possible. I鈥檓 an open believer to many scenarios believe it or not.
HermannFegelein26-30, M
@MarkPaul but then I ask what is my definition of a job well done? What is your definition of a job well done? The two may not be the same definition.
MarkPaul26-30, M
@HermannFegelein There's only one definition.
HermannFegelein26-30, M
@MarkPaul and what鈥檚 that? I鈥檓 curious.
HermannFegelein26-30, M
@ScarletWitch Yeah this is actually kind of what I was getting at. I鈥檓 actually subscribed to this guy on YouTube. He literally took the words out of my mouth in those first couple minutes. Maybe I鈥檓 not as good at describing my way of thinking but that鈥檚 what I was getting at. My name is Christian but as many know our bodies decompose when we die. But what do we call our mind? Where does it go? Does that distribute into the world too just like how bugs and other animals may feed on our dead corpse some day? I mean imagine if somebody killed you but somehow reanimated your body so that it could your physical body could live again. Would that same persons mind still be there?
HermannFegelein26-30, M
@MarkPaul let me ask. Do you think there is something wrong with death?
MarkPaul26-30, M
@HermannFegelein You mean the way it's constructed?
HermannFegelein26-30, M
@MarkPaul no i mean do you frown upon knowing you will die someday? Do you think humans ought to try and discover immortality of our current form as a human being?
MarkPaul26-30, M
@HermannFegelein Immortality exists in Paradise. Our time here is designed to be limited. And, a redesign is not part of the plan.
