Why are people afraid of being sued?

Kick fake service dogs out!!!!!!!!! They can hurt ours
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
If it’s a store how do you know they are fake service dogs? They don’t have to be guide dogs for the blind you know. They can be emotional therapy animals which covers a lot of area. Store workers are not allowed to ask for proof or ask customers about their disabilities, it violates HIPPA. Store employees can ask someone to leave if their service animal shows aggression for example.

@cherokeepatti also it has nothing to do with hippa that refers to patient to doc interactions.
You may ask two questions
1:is that a service animal that migrates your disability?
2: what tasks does it preform?
Of they answer yes and list tasks but it acts inappropriate they are allowed to ask that the owner and dog leave

@Soramarie I saw the manager make someone leave with her poodle one day after she told me that it was a service dog she needed for a disability. I guess he saw something or whatever.
Soramarie · 26-30, F
It’s not often though. I see people let freaking crappy ankle biters in and the loose their heads at big dogs behaving properly and I’m like ummmmm@cherokeepatti
Soramarie · 26-30, F
@BlueVeins bit of the company is in the right and sees a dog nipping at customers and riding in a cart they will get money of anything
Soramarie · 26-30, F
@BlueVeins I get this logic but when Karen’s damn York nips at my real service dog who walks by peacefully I want to flip. If he gets bit and has mental effects or is physically harmed I’m out of my medical assistant and $1000s
Chevy454 · 46-50, M
Yes. It’s freaking ridiculous.
Chevy454 · 46-50, M
Yea the whole emotional support thing is a crock of crap. Granny just wants to take little fluffy everywhere. @Soramarie
Soramarie · 26-30, F
@Chevy454 emotional support animals are very real however by Ada law have no access rights .
Soramarie · 26-30, F
@Chevy454 the only allowed place is for free air travel and housing accommodations
saintsong · 41-45, F
I would love to get a service dog for my sons frequent epilepsy. But I already have pet cats that surely would attack it. So maybe in a few years.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
Aren't people supposed to have a document that proves a dog is indeed a service dog?
Soramarie · 26-30, F
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic so mobility and seeing good eye dogs require no papers per ADA law. Physiatric service dogs need a drs note. I choose to carry a drs note so if I have to call the cops on a company I can show them. Businesses are allowed to ask
1:is that a service dog to migrate a disability
2: what tasks does it preform
Any further questioning or asking for documentation is against Ada law

Here is the official Ada site in regards to service animals
Peaceful · F
You kick dogs? 😳
Peaceful · F
@Soramarie I'd kick you too if you were about to bite me. 🤓
Soramarie · 26-30, F
Exactly. My service dog is my medical assistant. If a pet tries to bight him he could end up hurt or u able to work for mental reasons. Leaving me in a fragile state and unable to have my help mate with. Me. @Peaceful
Soramarie · 26-30, F
oh and the $1000s in vet bills and temperament testing, and training, and equipment that have been spent
bearinthehalfwayhouse · 26-30, M
Wait wot. ┬┴┬┴┤•ᴥ•ʔ
Soramarie · 26-30, F
service dogs are allowed in all stores pets are not. People who break this put legitimate service dogs at risk to be bitten
