What pieces of kitchen equipment do you consider essential ?

Odd question i know. But here's the thing.

I've moved house or living quarters so many times i haven't always had the time or the chance to take everything i have with me.
Consequently i'm amazed at the value of a good kettle and a sandwich toaster !

These things i've had for years ! And their use has been amazing !
The sandwich toaster has different plates so i can make toasted sandwiches; waffles; toast; cook meats; fish; veggies.....endless !

I think you've covered the essential basics there already.
One other thing is a knife sharpener of some kind. I do not have friendly feelings towards blunt knives that are meant to be sharp. 🙂

@Wraithorn Yes i was just saying to @twizty knives are a good investment rather than constantly getting annoyed at something that looks nice but doesn't do the job properly.

@Picklebobble2 Exactly ! A kitchen without a decent knife is just irritating.

Also sharpening a knife on something like a ceramic stone can give one a smooth, soothing and therapeutic experience. 🙂

@Wraithorn I think it's the fact it's a really simple thing you can do but gives you a guaranteed benefit for your labour ! Humans love lack of effort yielding great results 😄
