People who start "hitting" the gym at an early age actually remain shorter.

@AuRevoir it's true, it messes up with the growth hormones 👀

@HannibalAteMeOut 👀 Now you and westcoast need to help me understand how both sides of this come together..

@AuRevoir It doesn't mess up your growth hormones, exercise (and also fasting) can increase growth hormone, wich if you are an adult doesn't make you taller, but helps build muscle etc..

Doing heavy workout will increase your muscle tonus, this puts extra force on the bones. So if you start that at a young age you might stay shorter, then you normaly would have become.

@AuRevoir well mine is mostly about lifting weights. Things like hanging from a high bar can make you taller 👀

@HannibalAteMeOut 👀 Interesting..
HannibalAteMeOut · 26-30, F
@AuRevoir yeah but only when you're young, now you can do whatever exercise you want 😅

@HannibalAteMeOut 👀 it's too bad they didn't teach all this when I WAS young 🙄 Amateur public school systems!
HannibalAteMeOut · 26-30, F
@AuRevoir they didn't teach those things to us either, our public schools are less than amateur 🙄
AuRevoir · 36-40, M
@HannibalAteMeOut 👀 Kinda wish schooling systems could get their priorities straight tbh..
HannibalAteMeOut · 26-30, F
@AuRevoir not gonna happen anytime soon
