The police in the UK are arresting people for buying stationary, Easter eggs and birthday cards

THESE ARE NOT ESSENTIAL ITEMS but even if the perpetrator buys food at the same time, if the police find out that theyve simultaneously brought any non essential items, they get in trouble

@Jm31xxx there's been some confusion, now clarified by the Government, but you said police are arresting people?

@Jm31xxx you heard it in UK talk radio? IMG it must be true. Was that just after their phone-in about invisible aliens taking over the government?

@Jm31xxx I've read stories on the BBC and many other news organizations in the UK about this..
Police following Walker in the park with drones.
Dying the water colors to discourage people from going..
Some police are going to extremes.. guidelines are not legal orders

@Jm31xxx a few local authorities hassled local shop owners, before the Govt clarified that if a shop was considered essential and could therefore open, then it could sell its normal full range.

A mixture of unclear Government directions and overzealous policing, but not really a major drama, and sensationalising it probably isn't helpful in the current situation?

Just my view.
