If we call Covid-19 the Chinese virus because the first cases appeared there, shouldn't we called HIV the American virus for the same reason?

It s neutral to me to call the virus with the name of a place. The large scale recognizable outbreak first happened in china, it s easy for everyone in the world to understand which virus people are talking about, it s convenient and not to get confused with other viruses. If china gets sensitive about the way it s called, it probably has some agenda behind which they are afraid of getting found out. If it's a natural disease that no one is to blame, why getting afraid of the naming?

@Sssslm I have always hated that 1918 influenza has been called 'Spanish flu', as if we had been guilty of infecting the same world. And cannot help noticing that all this branding has always the same origin 🇱🇷. Other countries are the bad guys, and they are the saviours.
