@bigboyshaun it is a rip off and i am not referring to the roll just being mercenery taking advantage of supply and demand

Looks like a corner shop... Fleecing bastards!
If possible people need to avoid these small businesses. They are taking advantage of the situation, and I hope people remember what they did when this is all over.

@ArishMell I work in retail. I know for a fact that you can get a 24 pack of this VERY SAME PRODUCT for around £10.
So, £10 for 24 rolls is approximately 42p per roll.
This shop is charging £18 for 18 rolls, which is £1 per roll.
So, per roll, they are charging over twice as much as usual...
My comment still stands. They are using this situation to rip customers off.

When contacted, the store said: “We buy these packs for £13.99 each plus VAT, the recommended retail price is £14.99 and above.
“We understand it is expensive and on a normal day it would not be competitive.
“We have a big range of toilet paper; we have Happy Shopper brand which is four for £1.79.
“But people have come in and panic bought and now we are rejecting customers we know on a first name basis.”
A picture of the 18-pack toilet paper with the £17.99 price tag has been circulating online.
Tesco are currently selling a 16-pack of Andrex Toilet Tissue for £8.95.

NO. It is the implied allegation of 18 quid for a toilet roll that is "just bloody crazy".
Look at the photo properly.
That label shows the Price PER PACK of 18 rolls!
The rolls are £(17.99 / 18) each: a fraction of a penny under ONE POUND EACH.
The people alleged to have "blasted" the shop are too dense to have spotted that, they spread it, it gets repeated on here and people fall for it. Why?

price gouging in US is punishable by a year in jail and a $10,000 fine; plus a possible extra $5000 per violation...
not sure about the UK, but I'd imagine it's something similar... 🤔
