How important is a perfect smile to you ?

I never had a problem with my slightly crooked smile until someone who I held in high regard told me I need braces .. it kinda hurt being told that and now I’m semi self conscious about it

Ah... The damage done by one simple comment!

My cousin looked at Mt daughter o e wjen she was 5 and saw she had a gap between her teeth ( shit - she was 5!!!)
My daufhter NEVER grinned again or smiled with heroht open - made her self concious for the next 10plus.
We even got her braces to close it faster than inlrmallt would have just to help her.

Amd even to this day,(she's 20 now) she doesn't smile as wide as she used to wjen she was little _ just because of one thoughtless comment.

Makes me so mad.

@OogieBoogie I know that feeling .. I don’t even like smiling anymore
@KaylaSmilez thanks for deciphering my garbled message.

But yeah # it so stupid - and yet, things like... My sister has a pronounced overbite,yet everyone says what a wonderful big smile she has - it's imperfect - but beautiful.

Wjen were we taught things had to be perfect?

It's so wrong.

You even see comments like " studies have shown tjat symetry in a face denotes beauty "
BULLCRAP

No one's face is asymmetrical, amd if you tried it on some beautiful women's faces - theyd look stupid.

Beauty - is where you find it.

Amd we all find it on different ways.
