When i became an intern, and we had to work in teams, one of my colleagues had an extremely wild sense of humor. And that was the first time I was told my teeth are kinda projecting out of my skull. It was just a comment made out of pure surprise, but it affected me so much that after that incident I always cover my mouth when i laugh, or i try to not open my mouth, which results in weird distortions of my oral region that make me look super unappealing.
So i tried practicing my smile in the mirror recently. And I realized: i don't have a defined smile to begin with. I kinda just....stretch my mouth which looks super weird and it's partially due to my forward projecting incisors. But besides that, every time i try to smile, my facial muscles start twitching, which means i cannot hold a smile, which is also super awkward and really off putting. Idk but all of this has made me super conscious about how i look in a social gathering. i look extremely clueless in pictures.

@assemblingaknob Omg I know exactly how you feel .. my profile name is kinda what I’m going thru at the moment in my life and I can’t afford to fix my teeth right now ..

@KaylaSmilez SAMME i'm poor too 😁

Not important, as long as they have good oral hygiene. What matters is the person behind the smile and how genuine it is.

@Magenta @KaylaSmilez She said it much better!
Hmm idk about you just take care of them keep em clean and floss. I never needed braces so i keep my mouth an teeth clean i have straight teeth for the most part and since i keep em clean it sometimes looks like im wearing diomnd grills but its cus i floss too.. It actually takes me about almost 20 minutes just to brush and floss i floss first then pea sized toothpaste then floss again then lastly brush again. Most people still still dont clean thier mouth good enough.

@TimingQuasars damn .. I sing twinkle twinkle little star and I’m done with my oral hygiene hahaha ...
@KaylaSmilez ok.. Thats good i guess. One way to know your mouth is clean is if you can almost taste the iron inside your mouth your tounge has blood in it so when yoir mouth and teeth are clean mostly all youll be able to taste is the iron in your mouth

Luckily there's some pretty nifty options now that aren't even as confronting as braces
KaylaSmilez · 18-21, F
@plungesponge I know but being told that I need to fix something on my body to be accepted kinda sucks

It's not that important. A good man falls in love with a woman, not teeth. And then he loves everything about her.
I would knock your regard down just a little for that person. I find his comment a bit shallow. Did you tell him to go on a diet or that his hair is thinning or that his ears aren't right? No, because you're deeper than that. Because those things aren't what makes someone beautiful.
In the end, it's not looks that hold someone. It's beauty.

Ah... The damage done by one simple comment!
My cousin looked at Mt daughter o e wjen she was 5 and saw she had a gap between her teeth ( shit - she was 5!!!)
My daufhter NEVER grinned again or smiled with heroht open - made her self concious for the next 10plus.
We even got her braces to close it faster than inlrmallt would have just to help her.
Amd even to this day,(she's 20 now) she doesn't smile as wide as she used to wjen she was little _ just because of one thoughtless comment.
Makes me so mad.

@KaylaSmilez thanks for deciphering my garbled message.
But yeah # it so stupid - and yet, things like... My sister has a pronounced overbite, yet everyone says what a wonderful big smile she has - it's imperfect - but beautiful.
Wjen were we taught things had to be perfect?
It's so wrong.
You even see comments like " studies have shown tjat symetry in a face denotes beauty "
BULLCRAP
No one's face is asymmetrical, amd if you tried it on some beautiful women's faces - theyd look stupid.
Beauty - is where you find it.
Amd we all find it on different ways.

Someone else will adore that slightly crooked smile, don't worry about what that person said
KaylaSmilez · 18-21, F
@Bushmanoz I’ll try not to

A slightly off smile isn't that important to me if she's slightly imperfect because mine isn't either. Missing a bunch of teeth, ok that's a problem lol
OogieBoogie · F
I m Sorry, but in my opinion .... Crooked smiles are the ones with character.
They make you grin wider yourself, and they are beautifully real!
They are quirky and you remember them.
Every guy I've seen that's had a Crooked smile has endeared me to tjem instantly, they're sorta cheekier than normal everyday smiles.
Keep it
Grin it
Love it
Amd others will feel that more than the boring standard ones. 😁💜
