How do you feel about the fact that in this generation, laying out your feelings on the table is perceived as weakness?

I find it wants everyone to share thier feelings?
And sometimes gets mad when you disagree.
Not putting the younger down,just my observation.
I was raised by parents who came from the WW2 era (had older parents),we didn't really wear our hearts on our sleeves.

Has been for every generation - actually feel like nowadays it’s less a problem than previously

@DownTheStreet Really? How so?
DownTheStreet · 56-60, M
@Casheyane things like “emotional IQ” and related stuff are talked about openly, a generation ago that go laughed at
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@DownTheStreet I never thought of that. In our country, when I read about the letters exchanged from long ago, they seem more intense and intimate. Now, everybody's used to messaging online and it is easy to take things for granted.

Maybe it depends on the situation. I am a very emotional person myself, but I think I've strucked some as odd or strange, and awkward, or having commited some social blunder because I showed too much. But there's a time for everything, and there will be some situations where you have to have the courage to show your emotions.

I think that takes courage.

I was under the impression that's what Facebook was all about, continually voice your feelings non stop. Seems it is applauded.

Perceiving can be deceiving.

I think it's being human, and if they consider it as weakness, they are inhuman.
