No offence but them weak compared to the U.S. F35
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
@AnukBinary The RAF have both Typhoons and F35s and the only advantage the F35 has is avionics, partial stealth and VTOL. Speed, range, service ceiling, weapon load and manoeuvrability are all on the Typhoons side.

@WintaTheAngle we still win
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
@AnukBinary Not with F35s you don’t. Your lot got such a pasting in the last joint exercise from British and German forces that a US enquiry almost cancelled the development budget for what was seen to be a flawed air combat design.

@WintaTheAngle RAF have better pilots, too.
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
@helensusanswift The boys in blue at Lossiemouth and Coningsby have been working as a team over the North Sea for along time. They do their stuff well.

@WintaTheAngle My Dad was based in Lossie for a while. I grew up in Moray, with the RAF lads a major asset to the region and very professional.

@WintaTheAngle you have no idea. I watch the F35 fly everyday. Y'all can believe what you want. But know this the F35 can be in London from New York in under an hour.
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
@helensusanswift You should be very proud.

@AnukBinary watching from the ground gives you nothing. Published reports on by USAF pilots tells the truth. Remember the F35 isn’t designed for dog fighting, it’s an avionics wonder, an invisible threat that hits a target and leaves. But the USAF accepts that if it was caught by a hostile fighter from a modern airforce it would loose. It’s a calculated risk. It would probable be deployed with a tactical escort or in a scenario when air superiority had already achieved.

@WintaTheAngle thank you.

@helensusanswift My dad also served at various airfields in the East Midlands including Coningsby. He enjoyed the Vulcan days the most.

@WintaTheAngle Then you should also be proud.
