Do you think a person addicted to alcohol can actually feel love?

Do those in active addiction have real feelings either dampened or heightened by addiction?

Addiction is the primary driver for an addict. Everything else is secondary when the demons come calling. In the quiet moments where there is no distraction they will feel real emotions, often mostly guilt, but then the demons call again.
