COVID 19 SEATTLE, does it not scare you?

It doesn't scare me - yet - even though I am of the age range when it starts getting seriously nasty.

It kind of reminds me of ads about women and heart attacks. (One in four women over 60 die of heart disease.)

Truth is, four out of four women over 60 die of SOMETHING, at some point.

'Normal' flu for the 2019-2020 flu season is estimated at 29 million cases in the US and thus far, covid-19, more than 100 cases.

Normal flu deaths in US 2018-19 season, 34,900. Covid-19, 9.

At this point, while nobody wants to get sick and even fewer want to die (of flu), it's a paper tiger.

To even meet the criteria of being eligible for a test, direct contact with a confirmed victim, or a recent return (14 days) from abroad. That really narrows it down for a virus with an incubation period of up to 14 days. Then the test is not even the WHO test kit, but a similar test kit (which will probably be from one of the big pharma concerns that donate to Trump), the only difference being it is not effective at all in detecting covid 19.
A bureaucracy screwed up. There's a shock.

I love it when bureaucrats screw up and even more when elected officials do, but it's difficult to see how anybody but the CDC is responsible for this error, unless the elected officials were also infectious disease specialists AND laboratory test specialists AND hands-on when the tests were being produced.

Any minimum wage employee who can't afford to take time off, illegals, those without health insurance and their families, the potential is scary. A cleaner at any major airport could potentially infect 10.000 people a day easily.
